As graphic pieces made in Adobe Illustrator, these abstract images represent a circle, the symbol of unity and wholeness, fragmented into the discrete parts that make its whole. Regardless of this, the parts still flow cohesively and the shape of the circle is still known. Furthermore, the colours of the fragments are to be viewed as light being fragmented into its coloured parts, similar to how white light shone through a glass prism refracts into a rainbow, the viewable colour spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet). The curved lines which surround the coloured fragments, emanate outwards, towards the frame, representing a feeling of motion, vibration, and energy.
The first image takes on a meaning related to duality of mind and body, as it seems there are two circles, but they originate from the same one circle, representing the relationship I have with myself. The second is more symbolic of myself as viewed by the world, where the one circle is representative of me with no separation between my mind and body. Also note that there is a hole in the centre of this image, placing you, the spectator, in a position of “seeing through” me rather than see me as I am, which translates into the incomplete, and impossible, understanding the world has about myself.
