Project: My Story of Community Support

Client: Champlain Community Support Network

Role: Digital strategy (marketing plan and social media campaign), ui design (wireframe, mockup, prototype), content development, video editing, analytics, longterm communications recommendations

Context: Client recently started an e-referral platform for connecting support services organizations with elderly or those with disabilities, in need of care assistance; looking for a strategy to launch the platform and increase awareness on a broader scale.

Design Process: What is the process like for the user and the e-referral platform? I screen-recorded my journey through the process of e-referring through the Caredove platform. and noted two things: it was designed with two users in mind, self-referrers and those making referrals on another’s behalf.

While the e-referral platform caters dominantly to the self-referring user, I optioned to focus the direction of the launch strategy on the “caring” user, likely an adult family member in the age range of 34-55.

A videographer, travelled to different support services to capture client and staff perspectives and stories regarding specific services. In 7 separate and short videos, we hope to capture: Attendant Services, In Home Support, Assisted Living, Respite, Homemaking, Adult Day, Hospice.

Challenges: A second target audience would be hospitals in order to refer patients to our services. Hospitals and the medical/healthcare demographic are apprehensive to refer, distrusting the lack of “healthcare” within CSS and its usual association as social assistance. Hospitals refers to the people they care for as “patients” where as CSS refers to them as “clients” reinforcing the difference between healthcare and social assistance.
